Torsten Kluske is the ‘German Amateur Master Chef’
BORA, Johann Lafer and TEUBNER Verlag named the winner at the grand final of the cookery competition in Raubling.
Raubling. The competition was top quality, the judges strict and the winner over the moon: Torsten Kluske from Vechelde won the ‘German Amateur Master Chef’ competition after a long day slaving over a hot stove. BORA launched the competition in January 2015 in conjunction with Johann Lafer and TEUBNER Verlag. BORA founder Willi Bruckbauer reported an overwhelming response: “We were impressed by the excellent quality of the many recipes submitted”. Johann Lafer also praised the format of the final: “I have rarely eaten so well at a competition. We reached a very high standard.” Bernhard Kellner, Publishing Director at TEUBNER: “The winner’s recipe will be given pride of place in one of our next TEUBNER cookery books.” The three finalists and their assistants spent several hours cooking impressively, with focus and professionalism, before finally presenting the judges with some amazing creations.
About the competition:
Ambitious amateur chefs from Germany, Austria and Switzerland had until 31 May 2015 to submit their favourite home-cooked recipes at www.bora-deutschermeister.de. There were virtually no limits to their imagination. The only constraint was that they had to create a three-course menu containing ingredients from a pre-defined shopping basket. The judging panel, which consisted of BORA founder Willi Bruckbauer, Johann Lafer and TEUBNER Publishing Director Bernhard Kellner, selected three favourites to demonstrate their cookery skills at the grand final in Raubling on 3 October. The competition will take place again in 2016.
